Finally had the chance to try out the new snow blower. This will
definetly take some getting used to. John Wayne machine though!

Livin it up!
It seems to be the small things lately that have really gotten my excited. Though I would love to win the lottery I will settle contently with my minor victories. As posted previously I have started a video podcast/show for old hockey cards. I am just two episodes in and I am finding it so enjoyable.
Siting down to shoot an episode and then edit and post it, gives me some kinda of sugar high. I smile from ear to ear, while Kerri sits off to the side wondering if I took some of Harley's puppy prozacs.
Today I had a very nice surprise from the one who dreamt up the idea, Gary Vaynerchuk. He sent out a simple twit encouraging me to keep going and added a link to episode two. Well, I was quickly pounded with emails from new followers on twitter, and emails reporting people posting comments to the site and viddler. It was very nice to see since I really just got it started and already am getting some viewership. At this point 1 viewer is all it take in my head to keep doing it.
On a more personal note this week has just flown by, the days are all blending together and my early mornings are getting earlier and earlier. Next week is a big week as Mocha starts puppy classes. It is nice that they are being held at the local Vet clinic in Baden. I think it's really funny that the very first class is "no dogs allowed", as though the trainer needs to make sure we aren't going to be bad examples for our puppies.
From now on I wont be able to sniff my ass, shit under the bed or beg for food. I suppose if it's for the betterment of the puppy I can tighten up ship.

The Hockey Card Show!
So it has finally come to fruition. I have posted the very first episode of The Hockey Card Show. It is an idea that came from Gary Vaynerchuk. You sit down and open an old pack of hockey cards and talk about the players in that pack. Seems simple enough which of course means it was perfect for me.
So now I need some viewers, if you think anyone may be interested in this please send them the link.
Go check it out!!

For those who remember when Steve Sullivan was a Leaf this should put a smile on your face. You can definitely add him to the LONG list of players that the Leafs should never have traded away.

I wish I was a kid again...
It's Halloween and I am drawn back to memories of me and the guys meeting up at Jeff's house to go door to door to hunt down the best candy. I was usually a masked mummy with purple hair, Jeff was "Jason", and I think SJ normally was a hockey player. We would go up and down Woodward Ave, making sure to stop at the rich houses on the north side and also stopping at the old folks home to see what kind of stuff they had.
Still remember when Matt, who was dressed as Mortal Kombat's Rayden, was asked by an old lady if he was dressed as a lamp.

Thinking back I really wish I had put more thought into my costumes. I remember once being Bret The Hitman Hart, but other than that they were all pretty blah. The pictures and videos that you see now are nuts! Maybe it is because there are better characters now, whatever it is, it sure makes me want to be a kid again.
On a more skewed note, I just discovered PedoBear. Definitely "out there" but friggin hilarious. Here is one of my favorites. I have also seen a picture of someone going out for Halloween dressed as him with a chick dressed as a girl escorting, fuuuunny.
Happy Halloween :)

Really...snow?
The weather guessers have been flirting with the S word for a few days now and when I was driving home from work last night I couldn't believe my eyes. As I was coming down the last hill towards Baden the sky looked a little off. It was almost like a fog that was all over and through the town.
Snow.
Seriously, it was just snowing in Baden. It was pretty hilarious to see it coming down so early in the season. Unbelievable really.
It must have been pretty windy in the day too cause I came home to this on the deck.

Snow sucks.

My brother is an athlete!
Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, Erik Johnson, these are some true atheletes. The list could go on and on, but it stops here. These people, all in their respective sports have gone above and beyond what is expected for the betterment of the team. In Tiger Woods' case it for himself and his buckets of money. The point is they lay their body on the line over and over to make the big play.
There is someone I would like to nominate to be added to this list. Someone who as also gone the mile and pushed through the pain to reap the reward at the end of the tunnel. My brother, Ryan Kendrick.
Ryan blew out his ACL...yeah that's right. The man -correction- the legend of Burlington Central High School football is laid up on a couch after a devastating injury, which will side line the retired right guard for 4-6 weeks. I would like to be able to tell you that he is going to be the same #67 from back in his glory days, digging it out in the trenches on the back field on Baldwin St, however the future is unpredictable.
The repercussions from this devastating injury are going to resonate for years to come. Every dropped pass, every duck thrown, every Thanksgiving Day Family Sprint 2nd place finish, there will be an asterisks beside his name. The most important of all these fall outs will of course be a lost game of darts. The constant leaning on his front leg will reek havoc on his game. If only there were someone that could take advantage of this and rain down 180's all over his ass, while he sits to the side with a cold beer nursing his slowly swelling knee.
Seriously though, I feel for you Ryan. It wont be easy coming back from this one. I know you can and I know you will but it will take time and patience. Just hang in there and set a goal for yourself. Whether its getting up to get a beer, walking the dog, or hitting that double 1. You are a very strong person and nothing is going to keep your ass down. You're the champ, go get your belt back.

Damn we own a lot of shit...
It was Fall cleaning day in the Kendrick house on Saturday...and holy hell we own a lot of crap. The main focus was the basement, which over the past year has been packed fuller then one basement should be.
It was becoming common practice to answer "put it in the basement" to just about any question referring to shit that needed a home. But now it is looking pretty good. We have a growing pile of give away items, the patio furniture is nestled nicely in a corner and the cold room is looking normal again. And I am one step closer to having some old school video games systems hooked up too. Just need some help lifting a TV then the NES, SNES, and Dreamcast will be back from the dead and reading to rock it! If only I hadn't lent out my N64...I will never see it again...
With the calmer weekend Kerri and I also had a chance to clean the house top to bottom which has not been done in, well lets say a while.
We caught up on some PVR materials we had been slacking on and also watched a crap load of How I Met Your Mother. Which is a great show and I suggest you watch it if you can.
Oh and the Leafs beat the Senators on Saturday HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Eat it Ryan :)

The best of both worlds...
Kerri and I met up with Mark and Erin last night for dinner down in Cambridge. It is something that we are trying to do every couple of weeks. We have this idea to try out a bunch of places and try something new every meet up.
Last night we hit up Applebee's. It has been a least a couple of years since Kerri and I had been there, and from what I remembered it wasn't anything special. Not much has changed.
The food was just okay, and the service was decent. It kind of seemed dead in there which was fine. And the price of the food was a touch high, well at least in regards to the appetizers.
However, the beer, oh my friend the beer, was cheap. For $5 you got your self a mini pitcher of either Coors Light or Canadian. The pitcher was 32 oz, and given the glass you got I ended up with a little over 3 beers. The also had draft and domestic on for $2.50, shit Kerri's sprite was $2.59! So if you are looking for cheap beer with some decent food check out Applebee's.
Sounds like next time we go out we are going to hit up Boston Pizza. Mark has been going on and on about a spicy perogi pizza that is awesome. So awesome that it is already on the menu for Super Bowl Sunday. Must be one hell of a pizza.
They find out the sex of the baby (hopefully) today. Erin and I think boy, and Mark and Kerri feel it will be a girl. As usually I'm sure I will be wrong.
Oh and in case you missed the Lucic hit on Van Ryn last night...

Until next year...
.jpg)
This past weekend was Oktoberfest! It was a much smaller group then usual, but still fun as hell.
This year we kicked it up a little differently, with it being a small group and with Kerri and I living outside of the city we decided to get some cheap ass hotel rooms and just crash there for the night. Now when I saw cheap ass I mean CHEAP ASS. We booked a room at The Knights Inn just off Weber. The price was right and that was all that counted, it was dated to say the least.
Kerri ended up getting sick a couple days before and didn't make it out festing which sucked, as Oktoberfest is something that we look forward to every year, and have always gone ever since we have known each other. Of all the days to get sick the mighty flu bug decided it was that day.
.jpg)
The group hung out in the hotel for a bit before heading over to The Aud. Did a little (some a lot) of pre-drinking and decided to walk the 30 mins to the hall. During the walk I quickly found out that I had been heavily invested in the pre-drinking part of the evening. Thankfully the walk sobered me up enough just in time for the HUGE line that was formed outside of the fest hall.
The night went great with lots of beers, a couple sau
sages, and even some dancing, 4 dudes dancing together in a circle but still dancing! I had some worries about the table when we arrived but the cool guy who hand wrote a "Reserved" sign was quickly booted from the end of the table, by a new group of much nicer people. The end of the evening arrived and we took a cab back to the hotel and passed out on the floor.Next year we are going to try for Concordia Club, hopefully Kerri will be able to come out too, it wasn't the same without her :(
Oh and the tradition of building a big pyramid of cups only to have someone drive their head through it continued! Sorry about the singing on the clip, by that time I was ziggy'd out!

Gobble Gobble...
Better late then never :)
For Thanksgiving Kerri, Mocha, and I went down to Burlington to have a nice turkey dinner. It was an awesome meal and was great to see the family.
The football was brought out and we played a much lazier version of pass then in previous years. I guess we are getting older, that or we are drinking more, which ever the case, the football only managed to last in short increments.
Tim and Steph looked happy, you could tell Tim was ready to jump in the car at any second if need be to drive Steph to the hospital. Should be any day now that she pops, and out comes a little boy or girl. I'm thinking girl again.
As mentioned dinner was awesome! My Mom makes her turkey in advance, she cooks the turkey the day before then carves it up. She then pulls off some voodoo magic with romaine lettuce leaves and a BBQ. It is so moist and doesn't taste at all like lettuce. Plus it means more time for her to hang with her family. All the trimming were there too, Kerri and Oprah potatoes, cheese and broccoli, rice and broccoli, neep, stuffing, you name it! I crammed two plates into my gob and was stuffed. And what do you do when you are so full you feel like you may exploded if poked? Time trials!
The football was brought out after dinner but didn't last long. Ryan, Jessie, Tim and I were out front looking down the street when the question was asked. How far do you think it is to Nanny's? I guessed 100 yards, and then proclaimed that I could run there and back in less then 32 seconds. It seemed do-able, didn't seem that far, and I figure the fastest guy in the world could do it in under 20 seconds, why couldn't I do it in 30? So the mark was set at 32.
The challenge is on, I ran first and make it there and back in 25.2 seconds. I thought I was going to collapse. Running there wasn't an issue it was once you made the turn. I looked up and thought "what the hell am I doing" the run back to Mom's looked like forever away, but I couldn't stop. Half way back my legs were like rubber. I was panting like a dog, then I crossed the finish line. 25.2 seconds.
Tim went next, then Jessie. I was still in the lead by a decent margin. Up stepped Big Red, Ryan who has a bum knee was encouraged not to run. But he wouldn't listen. He took off like a rocket! The years of Petrie football rushed back to him as he made the turn and headed back to the finish line, his eyes were glued to that line, determined and confident he crossed the line in under 25 seconds. 24.9! His arm was raised (cautiously of course, bum shoulder and all) and the coughing and hacking ensued.
There was a moment (during the coughing) that I thought "wow he got me", but what fun would it be if I didn't try to beat him. So I set up again to race, again thinking "what am I doing!?". The second time racing was not any easier, alas, 24.6 seconds is the new Annual Thanksgiving Day Family Sprint record!
We arrived inside after the event to some Nanny apple pie :) There is always room for pie...
Check out the video below, if only I had some Alf theme music playing.

Love this idea!
I want to do this!
Really...
If you are an internet nerd like I am then you have heard of Gary Vaynerchuk. If you are a wine nut then the same goes.
Check out Gary's latest idea for a simple show that could make you some coin (or not) on the side.
Sounds like fun!
CHECK IT OUT! Who's with me?

As the world turns...
Hello!
You would think that Clark Kent has it great. He is a super hero when he isn't at work and can do some pretty crazy shit in plain clothes if he really felt like it. Seriously, you haven't once wished you could throw down some X-Ray vision while at the bar, or at the mall?
But he is running two lives, two very different lives. One where he can do no wrong and everyone adores him and screams for him when seen. The other is the unsuspecting reporter who can't catch a break and will for ever be the "that guy" in the world.
Maybe the benefits out weigh the negatives, but it makes me wonder if he could pick; which one would he pick?
You could fly around, see through walls, heat and cool shit with your eyes or breathe, you could be the man of steal! Lots of responsibility though, I would imagine.
Where Clark he can just chill and do his thing day in and day out. Get a promotion and get a corner office with a view of a building that is twice the size of the one he is in.
It's a tough call...
I would rather be Clark Kent. I think there would be less email.

Big Weekend...
The wedding shoot happens this weekend up in Chesley for Amy and Toby. We head up tonight and then the fun happens tomorrow morning bright and early at 8:00 am. I am looking forward to the shoot, and feel good about it, I will read up on a couple notes I have taken but all in all I am feeling good.
I added to my storage arsenal last night and grabbed two 8 GB compact flash cards. I am now rolling with a total of 20 GB! I also stopped in to Black's to see if the new Nikon D90 was out but it was not. I wasn't so much looking to buy one but just wanted to tempt myself.
On a super fun and cool note, Mark and Lara had their baby. Ava ? Borody was born Thursday and everyone is healthy and happy. Kerri and I stopped by last night to say hello to the little one and she is very cute and small. Congrats guys!

Let it Snow!
.jpg)
We took the plunge after getting hammered last year and bought a snow blower. It was on sale a couple weekends ago so figured what the heck. Over the weekend I broke open the box and extracted the beast from its cave. It looks like one hell of a machine, to say I am intimidated would be a gross under statement.
.jpg)
The model we got is the Ariens 927. It's a 9 hp, 27" width with an electric start and more knobs and levers than I know what to do with. It was pretty straight forward putting it together as all I really needed to do was raise the handle and attach the shoot.
With the wide open field to the West of the house last year we got slammed a lot with huge drifts and big head aches. This year we hope it will be different. I never thought I would hope for a shit load of snow but bring it on!

Getting gassed...
Looks like I made the right call finally and got gas last night on the way home for 1.139. This morning on the drive in the price was at 119.1, up 6 ish cents over night. Why?
Really why this time?
You would think that if Canada is based so heavily on what is happen in the US that gas prices would have dropped a bit over night or at least stayed idle. But NO, with the looming Government bailup in the horizon, and the highest 2 day Dow gain in 6 years, gas prices go up!
I guess if you have money to spend then you will spend it...even if it is imaginary money.

Hockey!
Me and the guys are doing a hockey pool this year. We did one a couple years ago, which I won (thank you, thank you) but this years looks like it will be a bit smaller. Should be fun to follow the games, not sure how much Leaf watching will go on. The team is not looking too promising this year, but I have been wrong before.
I always hope that one year they will just jell and win a shit load of games. There is always a team that is not expected to do much and end up making the playoffs and looking decent. Why can't that be the Leafs??!
Obviously I know that answer, maybe one year.

When will it end?
We had ANOTHER crazy busy weekend! Went for dinner with Mark and Erin on Friday night after going shopping at Costco. We found out that we are going to be an Uncle and Aunt! We are both very happy for them.
Saturday I worked then we had to do some running around in town for the wedding that is in a couple weeks, just picking up odd things and getting the dress altered.
Sunday we went down to Burlington where Kerri was at Steph's house prepping the place for another body, they got lots of work done and got rid of a lot of space wasting things. Looks like they will be well on their way.
While the girls were doing that Tim and I went golfing! It seems end of season is the time when I golf as this is back to back weekends that I have played.
We played at Lowville Golf Course in Milton it was a blast, and I actually played well shooting a 43/48 for a 91. I had 5 pars on the day but no birdies. I did however manage to muster up a 7 on a par 3!!
Hurricane Ike was supposed to be coming to rain on us but it didn't start raining till we were leaving town around 5, lucky for us.
I'd love to keep playing every weekend but funds are shrinking and so is time, it seems we don't have any of that!

Ziggy Zaggy!

We have finally nailed down our Oktoberfest plans for this year. We were hoping to try out a new place this year but it didn't work out. Just one of those things I suppose. Either way I'm happy that we are going again, because every year is a blast.
We are going back to The Aud for this year's festing and it's a smaller group this year. This will be my 8th year going to Oktoberfest which is pretty cool when you think about it. That is a lot of beer and dancing all added up. I'm excited too because I am in desperate need of a new hat, the old one is starting to smell funny.

Qik - Drive in to Work...
So Qik lets you stream live from your cell phone. It's pretty damn cool when you think about it, I am going to try to use it here and there. I (hopefully) have it setup to automatically send a tweet on twitter whenever I go live. So if you are looking to find out when I am streaming sign up for Twitter and follow me.

Surprise!
.jpg)
This weekend was full of surprises. Sunday was the surprise party for Uncle Larry down in Burlington. He is turning 70 this month so Brenda setup a party for him. It was good times, as I got to see a lot of the Forbes' that I generally only see once or twice a year.
The party was held at Brenda and Rod's house, which is a very impressive home located in North Burlington. Nice big pool, a hot tub, exposed aggregate and all the trimmings, very nice.
I was also able to see my family as well, which is always nice. Riley is running around now and Stephanie looks like she's about to pop!
Rob managed to spill wine all down his shirt which went over very well :)
While this was all going on Kerri was in Baden at a surprise baby shower for Chris across the road. She as well looks moments away from popping. Kerri said it was a fun time and there a lot of fun games. Very good time.
It was a silly stupid busy weekend but a good one none the less.

Censored
I was driving in to Toronto last night to see Jeff, Colleen and their new baby boy Ethan. While listening to Z103.5 I was shocked to hear a never before heard (on my part) version of M.I.A's Paper Planes. During the chorus instead of hearing the gun shots and gun cocking, they replaced it will the words "zoom zoom zoom and boom boom boom" a la Rump Shaker.
Really!?
Really?!
We are at a point in our society where we can't hear gun shots on the radio? Death and violence all over the TV and all over movies but the radio is going to be censored.
They might as well of changed the sound effect to a dog's squeeze toy.
This is how it should sound, enjoy.

Baby Baynton
Well it's official the first guy from my group of guys growing up is a father. Yikes! Jeff and Colleen welcomed Ethan Phillip Baynton into the world August 26th. Everyone is happy and healthy.
Wow! That is the first thing that comes to mind with out question when I really sit back and digest this. First of all it's incredible, and I feel so happy for them that everything is going well. It's just so wild to think that Baynton is a father, I know he is going to be a great dad and Colleen a great mom. It's just that thought of getting Christmas cards with the three of them is what makes me need to shake my head.
Kerri and I are heading up there tonight to give them some love and drop off a gift. I have seen pictures and he looks tiny! I will try my best not to break him.
On a completely different note, I have been playing a ton of darts lately in the garage, it's all set up now and we even have a little TV in the garage for those hockey night/garage drinking/dart throwing fun times we all love.
Stay safe, bye bye.

I don't know enough to really know...
I don't know enough to really know, but what I do know, I know I like; still with me? I DO NOT follow politics, maybe a casual read or video watched during the week but that is about it. With the American election coming up, the hoopla etc is revving up more and more. The DNC was just held and the Republican one is to follow. I think it is incredible how much support is shown for both candidates. I watched in aw, as Obama, spoke to thousands of people that filled a football stadium. It's just incredible. Over the top spectacle, but incredible.
What he stands for and speaks about is what I agree with. He seems like a person that when asked would really listen, and understand. I think that is what America needs right now. Someone to take a step back, rub their eyes, then go to work. Not start fresh but start with a clear head and new ideas. I DO NOT follow politics. This is just my perception.
I have heard "America isn't ready for a black President". I think that is the problem right there. What does being black have to do with anything? That frustrates me so much. If I had the choice between two people, one that in my eyes was had beliefs, stances, goals to better the country I lived in, and one that was not. That's all I would care about.
Please wake up, please.

Golf Tourny!
The big HD golf tourny goes tomorrow, and I am looking forward to it. It's really fun just going out and screwing around with the guys at work. Most don't play golf so that makes me look good, a little side bonus if you will.
We are playing at Foxwood which is where we play every year. I guess if they can tolerate us, we can tolerate them :)
I would like to go shoot some balls before hand but I highly doubt that is going to happen, wish me luck tomorrow.

Time for an upgrade?
I have been using a Nikon D70 for the past 3.5 years now and have been having a great time with it. I have shot 2 weddings and one to come, it has come with me to Chicago, and Dominican Republic among others. The jump to digital was a great step to take back then and now it looks like it may be time to upgrade my arsenal.
I am debating whether or not I should upgrade or just stick with the D70. The D70 takes great shots and the quality is sufficient for what I have been doing. The main thought is that what I am shooting could be a lot better. With the great improvements in noise reduction at higher ISO settings and of course the bump in mega pixels, I stand to improve my shot quality.
The body I am looking at is the Nikon D300. I figure sticking with Nikon is the smart way to go seeing as I have a flash and pair of lenses already for my D70. Also my older memory cards will work for the new camera too.
All this in mind I need to make up my mind fast as I have a wedding to shoot at the end of September and I would need a good amount of time to get comfortable with a new body.
My problem with a big purchase like this is that I lack to BALLS to pull the trigger...

Travel...yeah right...
There are some many places in the world that I would love to visit. The main problem of course is that all this travel costs a shit ton of money. Money which I do not have. On top of that hurdle you also need the time to go everywhere. The more time you take off to travel the less you work and therefore the less money you make. Sounds like an impossible circle.
The two places on the top of my list right now are Ireland and Morocco. I have been wanting to see Ireland for about 10 years now and just recently thought seeing the Strait of Gibraltar would be pretty amazing. There are all these exotic places with exotic foods and drinks and colours and people. I would love to go to these countries and just sit down in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, not say a word and just watch. Breathe in the air, listen, and just be there...

It feels so good to be back...
My week of holidays came to an end yesterday and the routine of the work week is in full swing. It obviously sucks coming back, but in an obscure way it's nice coming back to the monotony of work. Something to fill your days and give you something to bitch about when you get home.
It was a very fun time off spent doing anything we could think of really. We went and saw The Dark Knight in the middle of the day in an IMAX theatre so that was kinda cool. Checked out the casino once and also hit up the horse races.
And I finally got the dart board hung in the garage, 180's here I come!
I am trying to find some new music to check out...any thoughts?

Step Brothers
Kerri and I went to see Step Brothers last night. It was damn good, very funny and very simple. Not too much thinking going on at all in this movie.
I find Will Ferrell movies to be either hit or miss, no in between at all.
I had lots of laugh out loud moments which is pretty rare for me.
Any way you should go see it, you wont regret it. Promise.

Fore!
Big golf game coming up on Saturday. All the guys are coming out, well almost all the guys. Should be good times, we are playing at Dundee Country Club in the morning.
I haven't been out since last year's Heritage Design tournament, so to say I am rusty would be an understatement. I really want to get out to the range at least once this week to shake off some of that rust but time is ticking.
I still don't have an 8 iron either, haven't had one for about 5 years, some how I still manage to shoot a respectable 100. I'm sure if that 8 iron was in my bag I could count on at least 20 strokes coming off my score. Maybe I will have to hit up play-it-again sports. Or maybe I wont, and just hold that excuse in my back pocket for a rainy day.

Tell me who has NOT been in this situation with a family member.
Knowing some of the other videos of John Mayer on the net I can see this as being fake but my god is it ever funny.

Come on Stamps!
Geeeez. The Stamps lost last night to the then winless Blue Bombers. The shitty part being that the winning play looked an awful lot like the winning play the Edmonton had against earlier in the season.
Maybe the Stamps D isn't very clutch or maybe the Bombers got lucky, I don't know, but I do know that the Stamps dressing room was not full of smiles and ass slaps after that game.
On a positive note, we are having a guest this weekened. MacKenzie is coming up tonight and then being picked up Sunday afternoon. Should be fun times, I have no idea what we are going to do, but sure we will think of something!
Weekend! Woo!

UFC Fight Night
Pretty good show Saturday night for the UFC.
I was happy to see Anderson Silva destroy Irvin. I don't think anyone will be able to stop Silva, especially with him moving weight classes and showing no signs of rust. It was incredible to watch.
Also incredible was the Markham v. Faber fight. For the first 1:35 Faber looked to be in control but that all changed in a blink of an eye. Great KO kick.
The Vera fight was pretty shitty, he got the win but man was that a boring ass fight.
I'm looking forward to GSP laying down the law come Aug 9th, that should be a good fight.

The importance of stretching...
Went into to Brantford for a Citi Financial softball tourny on the weekend. It was pretty nice weather until about 4 then the skies opened up and the rain came down HARD.
We played two games, lost the first one, and won the second. I hit like shit, over the two games but played really well in the field. Mostly stayed in center field, grabbing fly balls, lots of running.
My legs are killing my still, Sunday was not a good time as I could barely walk around the house. Hip flexor being the main problem, can hardly raise my legs.
It was a really fun time. A big storm rolled in and cut it all short, I don't think we were going to be in the finals but we would probably have had to play one more.

Poor people = drunk people = loud people
They may be on to something!
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=243557
Hell maybe be saving money on the ticket you can then afford to buy more beer, which ultimately leads to getting drunk and jumping on the ice with just a jock and tuque on.
How do I get these tickets??

So much fun!
So Kerri dropped me off my new iPhone yesterday on her lunch break (isn't she nice).
Really liking it so far. Been farting around with it a lot, downloading apps, taking pictures, posting to Twitter and Pownce.
It's very very cool. Seems fairly fast, and reliable so far.
There are times it seems to lag just navigating around, but minimal.
Was able to connect to my wifi network last night with no issues at all.
Downloaded the Remote app from iTunes, and that worked like a charm too, in fact I was sitting out on the deck with a beer in my hand controlling my music just how I hoped I would be able too.
Wish the Remote app had a bit more options in it, like being able to add a song to the party shuffle mix. Maybe I just haven't found that option yet who knows?
Got my gmail account set up on it too, I can easily send and receive, view pdf, word, and excel files. It's just cool.
Go buy one :)

Itching!
So I now own an iPhone!
The problem? It's not in my hands! Kerri has it up at her work, she got it from the Rogers store in her plaza.
I went all for nothing on it too, got the 6gb plan with a my 5 plan that includes some long distance. Way over the top but why the fuck not eh :)
Now just have to call and cancel my Bell mobile and see about dropping down Vonage to their basic plan rather than the unlimited.
I'm giddy :p

Seriously?
Such up and drink your beer.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/07/14/busch.reax/index.html
The dude that owns the company doesn't care about you. He cares about if he can get the 60' yacht instead of the 50' one now.
If nothing changes with the beer then really how does this effect you?

Monday again!
Just once I would love to some how skip Monday and go straight to Tuesday, though I suppose then Tuesday would be the new Monday.
Went down to Burlington on Saturday for a huge joint birthday bash. Got to see the whole family and my cousin Tamara was up from Nova Scotia as well. Usually see here once every couple of years so that was cool seeing her. Her and Ryan turn 30 this week/last week. That is a one large ass number.
After the lunch party, some came back up to our place for some drinking and video game action. It was good times, nice weather and fun times.
Still no iPhone, I'm waiting to get some concrete information regarding if activating a data plan is necessary to receive the promo price of $199 for the 8gb. Still hunting and waiting :)

Sans Cell Phone?
My contract with Bell is up in September which finally after 3 long ass years leaves me open to experience something new. When the iPhone was announced for Canadian release I was set in my mind that that would be my next phone. However once the details on the monthly plans were released that dream quickly faded. Now news out today says that Rogers and Fido will be offering a 6GB plan for $30/month. Much much better than the previous 300mb for $30/month. However I don't know if I can really commit to 3 more years. I would love to but really don't know.
I was thinking last night and wondered if I could go with out a cell phone. I really don't use mine a lot, its very random. Although internet access at the palm of my hands is extremely appealing. With Bell and Telus now announcing that they will be charging for incoming text messages ($.15/per) it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
So I am sitting on the fence of whether to do 3 more years with Rogers or loose the cell phone all together. Kind of an expensive decision.
I think I might have to sit on this for a bit. See what kind of corporate voice plan I can get from Rogers and see about adding the data to it.
I flip flop way too much........

Good call...
No word yet on Kerri's MacBook, I am still hunting around seeing if there may be a simple solution to the problem with her LCD. I was informed by a friend that you can purchase the LCD off EBay and install yourself. It looks a little tricky but is way cheaper than having someone do it for me.
I caught the UFC fights on the weekend, and was happy with the results, I went perfect in my picks so that is always nice. I don't see the controversy in the Griffin v. Jackson fight. I thought it was clear that Forrest won. I suppose since I was routing for him then it is easier to accept. All in all a good fight, I thought Forrest was definitely more aggressive than Rampage, it seemed like Rampage would only land punches in close and wasn't throwing much when they two were toe to toe.
I am trying to find a way to add a Twitter feed to the side of this blog, not really sure how but I think finding out should be lots of fun.
Why aren't you using Twitter?

Good news, AWFUL news...
So I got home last night and was all ready to get my new music setup up and running. I made my way upstairs and sat in front of Kerri's MacBook. Opened it up and saw a white line going across the whole screen, horizontally. I think hmmm, that's weird, I'll reboot, that always seems to fix shit.
Reboot.
Immediately on the loading screen the white line still lives. Oh shit....
My gradually shrinking knowledge of computers still tells me that this is bad. For this line to be there even when booting means something is seriously messed up with the MacBook's screen. Probably the most expensive part of the whole beast.
I do some searching and my assumptions are confirmed with postings of similar problems and no solutions other than replacing the LCD ($700?) or replacing the whole unit ($1600). Everything else is working fine, it's just this white line. So not a huge problem for the average Joe however when it comes time to do some photography work this little white line will be constantly taunting me. External monitor may be the way to go.
Oh shit....
The plus side is the Airport Express works like a charm :)

Rockin the Tunes....soon
Went out to BestBuy last night and picked myself up an Airport Express. The idea is to hook it up to our main floor stereo and play our music from Kerri's MacBook.
Down the road the ultimate goal is to get a WiFi enabled hand held device that I can use as a remote control to control iTunes from the anywhere in the house. That way I will never have to get off my ass to skip a song or set up a playlist or adjust volume. Genius I know.
Not sure what hand held device I want though, the first choice would be to use an iPhone, but as previously posted that is not going to happen. The 2nd choice is an iPod Touch, but that gets pretty pricey too. The last and far less cool choice would be to get some piece of shit off ebay that has WiFi....I like the iPod Touch idea the best, Apple is set to release their own application to do exactly what I want to do, free too. Who knows maybe ebay will have some cheap?

The last and far less cool choice would be to get some piece of shit off ebay that has WiFi....I like the iPod Touch idea the best, Apple is set to release their own application to do exactly what I want to do, free too. Who knows maybe ebay will have some cheap?

Finally!
So the deck that has been going on since the last long weekend in May was finally completed this past weekend. I am not very handy and tend to be a perfectionist, so when these two traits are combined you end up with a deck that takes over a month to build.

The patio furniture is already on it and we have already had drinks on it. I love how it turned out, it's just how I pictured it. Very happy. Just need to get the BBQ out there and I will be set!

Dreams = Destroyed
Canada Day!
Happy soon to be Canada Day everybody. So weird having it on a Tuesday, really breaks up the work week at least. We are planning on going in to New Hamburg for the duck races and fireworks, and pretty sure we will stop at the beer tent too. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
Tonight we are supposed to have some drinks and I think dinner with Sean and Chris (across the road neighbors). Either stay inside and watch the recorded finale of Ultimate Fighter or sit out back on the deck and drink it up...oh yeah that's right the deck she is a done :)
Finally! It was all finished up Sunday with the last section of railing. It looks good, furniture is already on it and has been sat in.
Hope everyone does something fun with their day off tomorrow.
Cheers!

Wake up call...
What a wake up call that was last night.
Wow.
We went for our fitness assessment last night at the new gym we joined in New Hamburg. Now I sit at a desk all day, maybe get up about 25 times a day to mainly use the washroom, get a drink or just wander around. On the weekends I don't go for a bike ride or a hike or to the park to throw the football around. I am not active. Period.
We were put through a series of test to see how we stacked up. First the scale, I clocked it at a cool 188 lbs, solid. Blood pressure was good, and resting heart rate was also good. Now for the chunk, BMI fat pincher device is next up...25.5% BMI, which makes me "over weight". Now for the fun shit.
Drop and give me how ever many push ups I can do.....8
Do as many sit ups as you can in 60 seconds......26
Do a wall sit for as long as you can.....60 seconds
Work the ghetto 1980's steps for 3 minutes....done - doubling my heart rate
I was cooked, not exhausted but definitely could feel that what I had just done was not my average get up to go pee sit back down sort of routine.
But that is why I joined the gym in the first place. So now it's all about improving, and determination to be better than how I was yesterday.
Each day being a little bit better than what/who/how I was yesterday.
Wish me luck cause hellll I am going to need it.

We meet again...
Well Blogger, it seems that I have returned, for how long? Well, lets not put a time line on it because we all know there is no chance in hell I am sticking to it.
I have recently been interested in the vast and I do mean vast array of social networking sites that are scattered all over the internet. I like most everyone in the world quickly adopted to Facebook. However the appeal quickly wore off. So now I am trying out Twitter, sort of half assly for now but I have hopes to increase my 'tweets' as time goes on.
I have pretty much abandoned my MSN Space page. Little too fluffy for me.
So let the games begin, I am back to blogger and will be posting and going to try some video posts as well. Check out my current info to check me out on Twitter, sign up yourself.
I will be posting all things referring to this Justin.
Cheers!
