Week #1 - Here We Go

One week down and many to go. The first week wasn't too bad.

Eating better hasn't been going well, I find if I prepare what I am suppose to eat that makes me prone to eat it. I only strayed once in the week and that was Saturday night during the hockey game. Two beers, which normally I would drink four or five so I showed some restraint.

Going to the gym had its pros and cons. It was nice to get out and do something rather than sit on my ass. The first work out went great, I was trying to find my weight range for the machines but think I did pretty good. The second work out for the week was harder, I think my muscles were still sore, I found it hard to get threw the whole set. The third trip to the gym was much better, my muscles weren't as sore which was nice and I think I finally got a handle on the elliptical machine. Something I found hard was keeping my heart rate low, but by the end of the week I had it all figured out.

The coming week should be good, I feel more determined knowing that the first week was not all for nothing, there was a decline in my weight so that is positive.

End of week a tipped the scale at 180lbs, down 4lbs from the start and for the week.

A finally note is that compared to the first work out some machines I have to drop weight in order to do the whole 12 reps, not sure what the reason is, I will have to ask my advisor Ron.

Editor's Note: After talking to Ron, my original thoughts of dropping weight and then gaining weight may not be possible. With doing both cardio and weight training, I SHOULD be loosing weight while I gain muscle. Makes sense. Thanks Ronnie
