Week #3 - Okay, Starting Now...

I celebrated my 25th birthday Friday night with all my friends and family, it was a surprise party orchestrated by my lovely wife. I was a little nervous about my upcoming birthday, especially with the prospects of going out for dinner and drinks. However I think I behaved, and ate and drank in wisely.

I selected the steamed veggies over the standard load baked potato, or French fries. And with my typical appetizer of cheese sticks, I only ate one, rather than three. So I think I did very well. I did have some beer and some shots. But all in all I think I did well.

I can see beer being my down fall, especially on the weekends. It’s very likely every Monday I will be saying to myself “Okay Justin you can’t drink like that this weekend”. A common, starting now view of things.

With the festivities on Friday I also missed my gym appointment, so once again only managed to get out there two times. I decided to give myself a break with my birthday so I feel good about the week. I received a sports nutrition book as a gift that I am looking forward to reading. Hopefully it can enlighten me about food choices. It should be a good read.

At the big weigh in this morning I tipped the scales at 174lbs, down 2lbs on the week, and a total of 10lbs from the start.

I’m happy with the process so far. Hope to continue the positive trend. I have been trying new machines at the gym so see how they feel. Start to look outside the box.
